Dr. Simon Rüdisser
Scientist biomolecular NMR and scientific computing at the ETH Zürich.
Dr. Rüdisser did his PhD at the University of Innsbruck where he studied the role of hydration on the dynamics of RNA and DNA in the group of Prof. Mayer. After his PhD, he joined the lab of Prof. Tinoco at UC Berkeley where he investigated RNA structures using NMR methods. In 1999, Dr. Rüdisser joined the group of Prof. Bodenhausen at EPFL to develop novel methods to study hydrogen-bond dynamics in RNA by NMR. In 2000, Dr. Rüdisser started a new role at Novartis in Basel to implement fragment screening by NMR in combination with molecular docking methods. During his time at Novartis, Dr. Rüdisser contributed to various successful drug-discovery projects at Novartis with his strong expertise in protein expression, structural biology, biomolecular NMR and drug research. In 2017, Dr. Rüdisser joined the ETH at the biomolecular NMR platform where he applies his extensive knowledge in biomedical research, scientific computing and NMR to develop new methods for NMR in drug discovery, structure elucidation of biomolecules, NMR methods developement, screeening libraries, scientific computing and machine learning.
